The sails are showing their age.

The sail covers need replacing (main & fore only)

 

All Dacron.

 

 

Rigging and masts.

 

Stainless steel standing rigging in excellent condition.

 

Masts need to be refinished

 

They are glued up solid spruce.

 

Other than varnish they’re in great shape.

 

 Running rigging is good.

 

 

Navigation:

 

Classic Constellation compass/ binnacle

 

Auto Pilot

 

Garmin Chart Plotter

 

Aries Wind Vane steering

Westerbeke (Perkins) 4-236

 

Approximately 85 hp.

 

As far as I know it’s original.

 

No hour meter, so running time is unknown.

 

Has always run great.

 

Starts right up.

 

All I’ve done, other than oil changes, changed final fuel filter to spin on and had the transmission resealed.

 

3 50 gallon fuel tanks (two have been refurbished) and a 15 gallon day tank.

 

I suspect the batteries might  need to be replaced.

 

 

Winches:

Bronze two speed anchor windless

 

All chain anchor rode with 55lb plow.

 

(Not sure how much is there, but I think it’s around 200 ft.)

 

60 lb Danforth

 

Several extra rodes

 

Folding fisherman

 

 

Accommodations:

 

Foreward is the work area.

 

Tool storage, bench and vise.

 

The head is located here as well.

 

There is a 20 gallon kerosene storage tank located under the deck.

 

Next aft is a sitting, storage area to port and hanging lockers to Starboard.

 

There are bookshelves on one the foreword bulkheads

 

There is an oil (diesel) burning heater located here.

 

Next aft is the main cabin, with berths port and starboard.

 

Lockers are located behind and above the bunks.

 

A table, with storage and folding leaves is centered between them.

 

The starboard berth can be widened with an insert and additional cushion.

 

Next aft is the galley.

 

The sink is serviced by a fresh water hand pump and a seawater pump.

 

The main water tank was replaced about 12 years ago.

 

75 gallons in stainless steel tank.

 

There is an additional 50 gallon tank in the bilge (I never needed it)

 

There is a Shipmate kerosene range.

 

And a Shipmate wood/coal burning stove with oven too.

 

Makes all the difference in cool weather!!!

 

Large ice box on starboard side.

 

Next aft is the passageway to the aft cabin.

 

Pantry is located on starboard side under the deck.

 

The aft cabin consists of a navigation station to port.

 

Lockers to starboard.

 

Then berths, port and starboard.

 

The engine box is centered here.

 

The cushion on top of the engine box and the starboard bunk cushion need to be replaced.

 

There are quarter berths further aft under the deck, excellent for storage

 

There are no quarter berth cushions.

 

COMMENT GLENN, On my new 1954 45′ ALDEN KETCH I boughjt last week,I have no QTR BRTH CUSHIONS, I love it, HUGE STORAGE AREAS !!

 

 

Maintenance :

 

Frame repair 2010, by the Belfast Boat Yard.

 

Refurbished fuel tanks 2022.

 

New foremast stainless shrouds 2008.

 

Keel bolts were replaced shortly before I acquired her.

 

Stainless steel fresh water tank 2012.

 

 

In general:

 

Kerosene lights along with 12 volt lights.

 

1500 watt inverter

 

There is a beautiful bronze figurehead under the bowsprit.

 

She is a joy to sail!

 

Very forgiving.

 

I’ve single handed her since 2006.

 

Been a wonderful home.
