Marine HVAC Technician. Thunderbolt Marine Inc. is a full service refit and repair facility dedicated to delivering the highest standards and exceeding the expectations of clientele with vessels of all sizes. Conveniently located on the Wilmington River in Thunderbolt, Georgia.
**Qualifications:** Must be able to diagnose HVAC problems in an efficient manner and explain solutions in order to problem solve. EPA universal certification preferred, project flexibility (60% marine work and 40% commercial work). Working knowledge of basic marine engineering calculations. Ability to read, understand and utilize basic marine engineering documentation and blueprints.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**
*Installs, maintains and repairs heating, ventilating, air conditioning and steam distribution equipment and systems
*Operates a variety of equipment as needed to perform work
*Installs, maintains and repairs computerized electronic pneumatic devices related to HVAC control
*Operates various measuring and testing instruments
*Requisitions material from stockroom and controls storage of materials
*Maintains electronic/pneumatic testing equipment
*Calls and works with vendors to arrange service for warranty parts, select appropriate replacement parts and
troubleshoot problems
*Performs brazing, soldering, pipefitting and welding.
*Provide supervisor with job status and recommendations to improve quality and efficiency.
*Perform other tasks, to include electrician duties and work as directed by the supervisor.
*Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures using testing devices such as multimeters, and megger testers to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
*Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with classification society requirements.
*Use pipe cutters, pipe benders, torches, voltage meters, carbon monoxide detectors, gas leak indicators, pressure gauges, thermometers, and more.
